It's time again to take a brief look back at the highlights of the past year's fishing. It's always difficult, because there are so many great trips and experiences to choose from. Here are a few of them.
1. Ice fishing in the Swedish Fjells. In April, we went ice fishing for Arctic char. The week flew by with snowmobiling and ice fishing.

We also caught plenty of fish.
2. The Finnish Trolling Championships on Lake Pielinen. Years ago, I had decided that I would no longer participate in the Finnish Championships, but as it happened, I had to go when the championships were close and, in a way, on home waters on Lake Pielinen.

During the practice sessions, we found some good fishing spots, but they didn't work during the competition.
Nevertheless, it was nice to participate in the competition with a great boat crew, even though we didn't succeed. It seems that nowadays, training without a live sonar is not effective enough in big competitions.
3. Autumn salmon fishing season. This autumn, I had a few successful salmon fishing trips. Puruvesi in especially was a nice place to fish until the arrival of winter.

A great catch, 4.7 kg lake salmon.
4. Impossible task in Puumala. An old friend had fallen into despair when no pikeperch could be found in the waters of southern Saimaa. I went there during the July heatwave with the aim of catching a pikepech.

After trying hard, we caught two target fish and countless small pike. I wouldn't have believed how much joy a couple of pikeperch could bring ;-)
Thanks to all my fishing friends for the great moments on the water and tight lines for the coming season!
